Hooray! My two Rosettes finally got here! It took a week for the seller to ship them out, but we all get busy. They shipped them out on a Saturday and let me know Sunday morning. President's Day was on Monday, so I am not sure if mail moved on that day, but I finally received them on Tuesday!! But...there may be an issue with one of the dolls. Before I talk about the issue at hand, I want to speak a little about Rosettes. They are one of my favorite doll lines. Unfortunately, it appears Soom has discontinued them permanently. They released the muse boys, which I COMPLETELY missed the ordering period and then decided to shut down the entire line of Rosettes completely! I am not sure of the details, but I have heard through the grapevine that the sculptor was holding out for more money and Soom did not renew the contract. Now the rights to the dolls are trapped in a pile of legal rights limbo. I have contacted Soom almost on a monthly basis and they keep saying that have "no plans for Rosettes at this time." I guess I can kiss my wish for a pure boy goodbye. GO BUG SOOM TO START SELLING ROSETTES AGAIN! Putting that aside, I wanted two cream white Rosette's but those girlies are just as rare as the muse boys. So, I had to settle for normal skin ones. This will change up my image of the characters a bit, but I can live with that. Now onto the issue I mentioned above. One of the bodies that I received had a blank certificate of authenticity! I am sure everyone's mind jumps straight to the recast conclusion. However, I have never heard of Rosettes being recast. I am sure it is possible, though. I checked everything over carefully, and I did not see any signs of double seams. The documents themselves look identical to all the other ones I have (including the card thickness and texture), even my set that I got directly from Soom. I contacted Soom and they said it is a possibility that they made a mistake on the certificate, but if I gave them the original order number they could look it up and re-issue the serial number. I am currently trying to find the original owner, but I haven't gotten any responses yet. The individual I bought the dolls from has good feedback on Den of Angels and no mentions of recasts in that feedback. I am thinking that this was indeed a mistake by Soom. If your Rosette doll originally came with a blank certificate, please contact me! I would like to contact Soom with the order number to see if we can get this girl the serial number that she deserves!
