Fairyland Event head!

I saw this head a little while ago and thought it would be perfect for a character I had been trying to flesh out since 2012. However, no matter how I searched, I could not find any for sale!

I later figured out that it was because it was the most recent event head from Fairyland. They had not been made yet. They finally popped up in stock on Denver Doll Emporium, but only if you bought the full doll in grey or blue skin. I did not want the full doll, just the event head.

I was a little bummed out, but then I saw one pop up on Den of Angels in white skin! I figured I could paint the head to match a normal resin color, but then a normal color head was listed! I emailed the individual right away and the head was home a few days later.

I had promised myself that I was not going to buy any more dolls this year, as I am getting a little too carried away with this hobby (even though its the only thing that makes me happy). I have other responsibilities I need to take care of. I even passed up Doll Family A's SD merman that I really wanted. It is very rare to find an SD merman, much less a muscular one! Although I do regret not buying him, but we can't have everything right?

I have spent many years looking for the right doll head for the Soom Rosette body I have. My character has droopy elf ears, so I have been trying out all of them I could find. Those include the following:
  • Dika Doll Elf Rena (way too big!)
  • LUTS Yul Moonlight (too big!)
  • Withdoll (A bit too big...)
  • Dollpamm YoSD Seravie and Icaris (a bit too small)

I had resigned myself to sculpting my own head, but I just don't have the time or energy to do that. I even bought a junk Rosette head to modify the ears on with Apoxie sculpt.

But alas! I was very excited to find the droopy eared Fairyland head, because I knew Fairyland has smaller MSD heads! Luckily, when I tried it out it was just about the right size! I am very pleased that this Soo head has a thinner face as well. The Rena and Yul heads were just a bit too baby faced for what I wanted. I am also happy that the ears on the Soo head look a bit longer in person than they do in pictures. I would rather have had a smiling face, but I can deal with the slightly vexed look!

I believe if this Rosette body wasn't so old and a bit yellowed, the resin colors would have match almost perfectly. This Rosette body is from around 2012, so has mellowed a bit.

It really is a shame Soom discontinued these long legged beauties. I was excited when they released a few of the Muse bodies on the Neo Angel Region website, but I think these girls (and boys!) are gone for good. I actually wanted two white skinned girls, but they are nearly non-existent!

Now I just need to find two more heads for the angel twins I have planned out for the other two bodies.
