DOLL ARRIVAL: DOLLZONE ANSON

6/28/2017

I have had an ad up on Den of Angels for a Dollzone Anson or Moment and it was finally answered! I was contacted about purchasing a Dollzone Anson for a decent price so I grabbed her up. I originally wanted the boy, Moment, but beggars can’t be choosers. These particular dolls are rather scarce, after all. I can always switch out the bodies later.
I had always hoped that Dollzone would re-release these guys, but it has been years since they have been discontinued. I would have rather bought these guys brand new. The doll I received has been passed around quite a few times, according to my research. I wish I knew the original owner, as I like to keep good records of all my dolls, but the previous-previous owner never responded.

The girls genealogy is as follows:

Unknown > Party A > Party B > Me

I am unsure if there have been any previous owners before “unknown”. From what I gather, Party A posted a wanted ad on Den of Angels and bought the girl when someone answered the ad. Party A then posted the doll for sale and then sold it to Party B. Party B then answered my wanted ad and that’s how she came into my hands.

There are a few things I was slightly disappointed about, which I go over in my box opening video. I knew Anson and Moment were a little delicate, but I didn’t think the resin would be as thin as it is on my girl. Some spots are so thin that you can literally see you finger through, like translucent tracing paper. I am unsure if she was cast this way, or if a previous owner sanded the parts down too much.
Another issue is that I was told this doll was undamaged. When I recieved her, she had chipping on her head cap. I am disappointed, sure, but not upset. I do give credit to the seller though, as the doll was very well packaged and arrived intact. I am assuming the small chip was overlooked.

Another thing I noticed is that the torso piece appears to be glued in. Since this is my first Dollzone doll, I am unsure if this is standard or not. I would be glad if another Anson or Moment owner could shed some light on my concerns.

My most major concern right now is deciding on how I should paint her!
