My dolls actually arrived a few days ago, but the post office has been closed. I finally picked them up and opened them and posted up a video on YouTube. I don't have any pictures of the Tan Vela yet. I hope to get those up soon. I didn't want any of the Free Choice Option parts, so I did a GO for those who did want them. Someone got a pair of steampunk wings, another person got an extra set of hands, and I also sold the Vela head in the natural skin tone that is pictured. I decided to use a different head on her. I put the Elf Rena head on her from DikaDoll. The head is unfortunately kinda too large, but it is workable. I wish I just kept the Vela head and modded the ears, but oh well. Anyway, here is the box opening video!

I am excited to say I have two more dolls on the way! I have been wanting a Rosette doll for a long time. They finally had a free choice event, so I had to take the opportunity to buy one! Actually, I bought TWO girls! That's right, two. I bought a muse girl and a pure girl. But get this...my muse girl is Vela in BROWN TAN. If I am unhappy with the tan color, I would probably end up selling her. However, I am thinking she will be gorgeous.
After mulling my idea for my Cyan doll, I decided to seek a different head. I trolled many doll company websites, and eventually found Doll Chateau. I fell instantly in love with everything! I LOVE IT ALL! *fangirl scream*
I love the unique bodies and heads. The sculpts are simply gorgeous and weird! I love weird! Anyway, I found a head that I loved (it was SOOOO hard to choose) that appeared to be the right sized. This was the Colin Head (Kid Doll; equivalent to a 1/4 doll or MSD). The heads were expensive, so I trolled around on DoA and eventually found someone selling the head (they bought the whole body, but didn't want the head) for a better price. My DollShe doll arrived today! Needless to say I was super excited. However, when I saw the box my heart sank a bit. It was squashed and had a HOLE in it! I opened it and was disappointed to see the doll box inside had been squashed as well, and the matte coating on the box was peeling off. :( Once opened I was even more disappointed to see that attempted sanding in a few areas discolored the doll. I have read that sanding a tan doll can do this, which is a reason why I didn't order the seams removed (not to mention it was expensive). I suppose I will have to try to match the resin during body blushing to try and fix it. WARNING! IMAGE HEAVY POST!
So I was looking for some white BJD eyelashes shipped within the USA and came across the "Fuck yea, BJD meme" and thought I would add some of the images that meant something to me. Click images to view larger version. Wow, ok, so I splurged and got me a DS28M 35s Saint in the tan color! Dollshe is having a sale, so I couldn't resist. I was torn on which body to get, as they varied greatly in price (DS18M & DS28M). There was a whopping $300 price difference between the less pose-able 18M body and the 28M body, mostly because of the new 18M body introductory (event) price (50% sale). While I love the sculpt better on the 18M body, I am looking for a more pose-able doll because this doll will be doubling as a pose reference guide. |
