Withdoll Haul: 2 Dolls 2 Heads and 1 UPS Driver Who Tried to Kill Them

If you watched my last Withdoll video, you might remember me mentioning their massive 40% off sale. Naturally, I could not resist, and my wallet paid the price. I ended up buying two dolls and two heads: Mai and Nei (same sculpt, one with closed eyes) in normal resin, plus Elf Emma in Light Rosy Brown and Elf Ian in Honey Brown.

​The Skin Tone Dilemma

​First of all, Withdoll informed me they will never produce darker skin tones again due to issues with their new resin formula. I’m still crying. Their old dark tones were beautiful, and the new ones were gorgeous too, now gone forever. It’s frustrating that hardly any high-quality sculpt companies offer super dark resin colors.

Shipping Panic and UPS Drama

​The shipping costs alone had me in tears: $150 for shipping, plus the fear of another $150 in brokerage fees. I tried to cancel my order during the August 29th UPS fiasco, but Withdoll said, "hell no." Eventually, they promised a UPS service where brokerage fees were included, saving me from total panic.

When the package finally arrived, our new UPS driver left it leaning against my mailbox… in the rain. My mailbox is a quarter mile down a winding driveway, completely exposed. Anyone could have walked off with it. Luckily, the dolls survived.

Crushed Inner Boxes

​Oh—and did I mention the inside doll boxes were crushed? You can see it clearly, though the outside shipping box looked fine. I like to imagine Withdoll punching the boxes in anger over my cancellation attempts. They were wedged in there with serious force. While I would have preferred intact doll boxes for display and storage, I suppose they deserved a little stress relief.

First Impressions: Dolls and Heads

• The male body has no thigh joints, though it does have detachable magnetic hands (which fall off if you turn them the wrong way).
  
• The female body’s hands do not detach at all.
  
• The heads are intended for Rosette body hybrids, but once I placed them on the bodies, I wondered if they might be too big.
  

Overall, I am very happy with this purchase, even with all the shipping drama and box damage. The haul is beautiful, and I’m excited to start the hybrid projects I’ve had planned for years.

Final Thoughts

If you’re a collector, this haul is a reminder: check skin tone availability before purchasing, brace for UPS-related panic, and maybe keep a towel nearby for soggy packages.

Even though Withdoll’s darker tones are gone forever, I’m still in love with their sculpt quality, and my wallet may hate me, but my collection is thriving.
