My BJD Brainrot

THE DOLL BLOG NOBODY ASKED FOR
Welcome to the blog, a chaotic archive of doll ramblings, art struggles, collecting disasters, customization experiments, and whatever financial mistakes I've convinced myself are "self-care." I ramble about BJDs, review them, attempt to customize them, and occasionally have an emotional meltdown. Think of this blog as a chaotic diary made by someone who keeps buying dolls despite having no space, no restraint, and no intention of stopping. If you’re here for structure or stability, you took a wrong turn. Enjoy the chaos.
Note: Some of the blog posts are blank. I am slowly but surely fixing them. There are a lot, so it takes time.

The UFDoll MSD 1/4 Lady Body is Cheap But Perfect! $50 MSD PVC Doll!

Another box opening. Another reminder that my self-control packed its bags years ago and never wrote back. This time, though, something rare happened. I waited. I bought direct. I paid about $50 total for a UFDoll MSD 1/4 Lady Body (also called the Naan body), including shipping.

Yes. Fifty dollars.

Meanwhile, the same body has been lurking on eBay and Mercari for around $150 like a cryptid that feeds on impatience. For once, I felt… fiscally competent. I hated it.

First Impressions: Why Is She So Heavy?

The very first thing I noticed when opening the box was the weight. This body is dense. Not the hollow, sad plasticky lightweight feeling I associate with the SD UFDoll bodies. This one has a resin-like heft that immediately made me intrigued.

It feels solid. Like if you dropped it, it wouldn’t shatter instantly into regret. It might give a little first. A nice, comforting thought.

Even better, she stands like a dream. No dramatic collapsing. No slow-motion betrayal. Just solid, confident balance.

Sculpt & Engineering: Surprisingly Thoughtful

I’ll admit it. I already like this body more than UFDoll’s older 1/4 girl body. I’ve never owned that one, but I’ve seen enough photos to know it leaned heavily into a childlike vibe.

And I don’t do childlike.

This Lady Body feels more mature, more intentional. The underbust joint alone puts it miles ahead of the usual useless rib cage joints that exist purely to mock us.

She poses beautifully and actually holds those poses. The chest joint even leans forward enough to be useful, which feels illegal in this hobby.

Seam Lines? What Seam Lines?

Picture
So smooth! No seams!
Here’s where things got interesting. Unlike other UF Doll bodies I own, which were clearly molded in multiple pieces and glued together like a rushed group project, this one appears to be cast in smooth, solid sections.

I genuinely couldn’t find obvious seams.

No raised lines. No awkward joins. Just clean surfaces and hidden peanut knees. Not the fancy three-part knees, but honestly? I’ll take it.

Weight Comparison: Heavier Than Resin, Somehow

I weighed this body against a resin doll from my previous video. The results:
  • Withdoll (resin): 1 lb 2 oz
  • UFDoll Lady Body: 1 lb 3.6 oz
  • UFDoll 1/3 Female Body: 1lb 9.3oz (This body is very light, hollow, cheap-feeling plastic like the stuff McDonald's toys are made of...but thicker.)

So yes, this injection-molded body is heavier than resin.

Which is wild, considering Withdoll resin feels suspiciously light, like it’s been hollowed out by ghosts. UF Doll, meanwhile, handed me a small weapon.

Hybrid Time: Why I Really Bought This Body

Picture
So damn cute!!
Let’s be honest. This body exists to serve a higher purpose.

I bought it for the KaniBoom Shenyen head.

After some minor wrestling (and the brief involvement of pliers), I discovered what the mystery inserts were for. There’s a smaller neck insert included, likely meant for smaller S-hooks.

Theory? Yes.

Confirmed? Absolutely not.

But the head and body work really well together, and the skin tones are close enough that I’m not losing sleep over it.

Photos of all the hybrids are up on the Doll Finder, because of course they are.

The Downsides (Because Nothing Is Perfect)

The biggest issue isn’t the body itself. It’s availability.

UFDoll releases these bodies sporadically, and when they do, it’s usually in shades of white. This one? Also white. Because that’s what existed.

These appear to be injection molded, which likely means large batch production and limited color options. I understand it.
I just don’t have to like it.

Final Thoughts: Am I Becoming Pro Plastic?

I used to be firmly Team Resin.

But if UFDoll and similar companies keep producing bodies like this—solid, well-engineered, nicely sculpted—I might have to evolve as a person. Against my will.

All I ask for:
  • More colors
  • More frequent releases
  • More body shapes

Until then, I’ll be waiting for the next batch like a hungry little goblin, refreshing pages and pretending I’m not.

If you’ve tried this body, stained it, sanded it, or emotionally bonded with it, feel free to share your experiences. I’ll be over here lifting it like a dumbbell.
