My BJD Brainrot

THE DOLL BLOG NOBODY ASKED FOR
Welcome to the blog, a chaotic archive of doll ramblings, art struggles, collecting disasters, customization experiments, and whatever financial mistakes I've convinced myself are "self-care." I ramble about BJDs, review them, attempt to customize them, and occasionally have an emotional meltdown. Think of this blog as a chaotic diary made by someone who keeps buying dolls despite having no space, no restraint, and no intention of stopping. If you’re here for structure or stability, you took a wrong turn. Enjoy the chaos.
Note: Some of the blog posts are blank. I am slowly but surely fixing them. There are a lot, so it takes time.

Ringdoll Omega Pearl White Fullset Unboxing: Batteries, Broken Skirts, and Other Threats

Picture
This is a long, detailed, and painfully thorough unboxing of the Ringdoll Omega Pearl White Fullset, complete with surprise steel, broken clothing, pearl finish mysteries, magnets with attitude, and the kind of “limited edition” math that raises an eyebrow. Consider this your warning.

Picture

Why Does My Doll Have a Battery Sticker? 🔋

Before I even lifted the lid, I was greeted by a battery warning sticker. A battery. On a doll. Naturally, my mind sprinted directly into conspiracy mode. Is she powered? Is she sentient? Does she vibrate? Is this a warning for me specifically?

Spoiler: there is no battery. Only questions. Many, many questions.

Limited Edition… Allegedly 🧮

This is the Ringdoll Omega Pearl White Fullset, SD sized, and supposedly limited to a few hundred sets. Supposedly. Allegedly. In the same way diet soda is "health adjacent."

I always side-eye limited-edition numbers when a doll is sold through multiple dealers, multiple storefronts, and directly by the company itself. Somewhere in the multiverse, I’m sure the math works out. Here? I remain unconvinced. I’m not saying anyone is lying. I’m just saying the numbers feel… flexible.

The Five‑Pound Steel Surprise 🪨

Picture
Atthe bottom of the box was an object that could absolutely be used as a weapon. Thick. Solid. Steel. Turns out it’s the base for a doll stand that I did not know I was getting.

I bought this doll from Alice’s Collections and thank every available deity that shipping was free. Otherwise, I would've been paying extra to ship what amounts to an industrial-grade paperweight. Calling it a “free gift” feels emotionally manipulative.

The Skirt Betrayal 👗

The very first resin item I open is the skirt. It is broken. Immediately. No warm-up. No suspense. Just straight to disappointment.

One side of the skirt is also significantly more yellow than the other. Is this clear resin yellowing? A wildly inconsistent paint job? A cry for help? Hard to say.

There are strange, glue-like pads inside the skirt as well. Maybe padding. Maybe grip. Perhaps a secret third thing. My best guess is that they’re meant to prevent sliding or scratching against the pearl coating, but visually they read as “unfinished arts-and-crafts project.”
Picture
I contacted Alice’s Collections, who contacted Ringdoll to see if a replacement is possible. If not, I’ll have to attempt a repair. Unfortunately, the broken area is thin, fragile, and lacks enough surface area for glue to feel emotionally supportive.

Accessories, Magnets, and Regret 🧲

Next up: accessories. Rabbit ears. Space buns. Antennae. Magnets strong enough to repel each other out of spite.

I spend an unreasonable amount of time playing with the polarity because it amuses me and because I have lost control of my life. The rabbit ears win. The space buns are not without charm, but the rabbit ears understand me on a spiritual level.

Misc Items & Bonus Injuries 📦

Picture
Inside the miscellaneous bag: eyes, eye putty, Velcro, eyelashes, a cleaning sponge, a certificate keychain, and a string puller that may or may not have been a free gift.

I demonstrate how the string puller works and immediately hit my hand on my mic boom. This feels on-brand.
Picture

Doll Stand: Deeply Unnecessary 🪑

The other free gift is the 500lb steel plate (dolls stand) they snuck into the box. The stand itself has an extremely deep saddle that blocks a large portion of the doll’s body. I do not care for it. If I wanted my doll partially obscured, I’d just put her behind emotional baggage.

It’s the visual equivalent of wearing sweatpants that could also double as a bra. Ugly. Unflattering. Aggressively practical in a way that completely throws off the vibe. Seeing a very elegant, pearl-finished doll perched on such an in-your-face dork saddle feels like a personal insult.

Articulation, Wiring, and Why One Leg Is Always Longer 🦴

I test the knees first. Then the thighs. The doll is wired, but the wire feels a bit thin for her size. I don’t love that.

There are also silicone disks in the hip wells that are quite large and protrude noticeably. These may be contributing to the eternal BJD phenomenon where one leg feels longer than the other, even though logically I know it isn’t. These dolls are most likely 3D modeled. The leg was mirrored. And yet here we are, gimpy.

I’ll likely remove the silicone disks because they stick out and offend me personally. Off with their heads.

Elbows, Shoulders, and the Underboob Joint 👀

Picture
The elbows bend nicely, though the pearl elbow appears to be a separate piece that was attached later. Same story with the knees and knee caps. The shoulders also contain silicone disks.

There is an underboob joint, which I inspect thoroughly like a normal person. I look inside the doll and notice grooves in the resin, bending the joint forward, back, and side to side like I’m performing an anatomy exam.

Is This Actually Plated? ✨

Like the Alpha body, this female body appears to be constructed in sections that were plated or finished separately, then glued together.

Is this true chrome plating? Or is it airbrushed pearl with a thick, glossy sealer? I desperately want to know. I am a curious person by nature, which is why I’m always poking around inside doll joints like I’m trying to solve a crime.

This habit annoys people. I understand why.

Assembly Instructions

How the Skirt Actually Attaches 🔧

Picture
Picture
To attach the skirt, you’ll need the tuning fork piece and the small back plug. Insert the tuning fork first, then pop in the back plug. If it looks wrong, it’s probably upside down. If it still looks wrong, adjust it gently and question your life choices.

The rectangular holes in the back of the skirt need to line up with the tuning fork prongs. There is also a small circular hole nearby that may or may not serve a purpose known to humanity.

Because my skirt is broken, it does not sit properly and remains loose. Your mileage may vary.

You can also use the full back plug if you don’t want the skirt attached at all. Or if you got the tail, pop that bitch in.

Head Accessories: Magnets Strike Again 👽

To attach the head accessories, the human ears must come out. This is easier said than done, as the magnets are strong and there is very little surface area to grab.

The clear hair piece slips on easily and has gaps for the ear pieces. Line the antennae notch up with the ear hole notch. The notch on the accessory is smaller, so you can rotate it slightly if needed.

Then grab the rest of the antenna piece and push it in. Yes. That.

The small boob pieces fall out easily, so don’t lose them unless you enjoy crawling on the floor.

You can choose rabbit ears or space buns. I choose rabbit ears. Or one of each, whatever suits your fancy.

The Clear Helmet Problem 🪖

The doll cannot wear the clear helmet and the hair at the same time. Pick one.

The helmet has notches meant to align with the magnetic ear pieces, but I’ve found that it doesn’t fit particularly well. It feels slightly too large. You can pop it on, thread the antenna through the helmet hole, and then reattach your ear accessories of choice.

You can also adjust the helmet up or down slightly.

The Head Comes Apart 😐

I almost forgot to mention that the head comes apart. The pearl top comes off. The faceplate comes off. Inside is a mysterious sticker that I do not understand and likely never will.

No batteries were discovered.

Final Thoughts 🖤

This is a visually striking doll with an ambitious design and a lot of personality. However, the broken skirt, finish inconsistencies, and general quality control hiccups are disappointing at this price point.

That said, if you made it through this entire unboxing or this blog post, you are a champion. Or at least someone with remarkable tolerance for detail.

Thank you for reading. I’ll see you in the next unboxing, where I will undoubtedly ask too many questions again.

Update: The Skirt Is, In Fact, Broken 🧾

Quick update on the broken skirt situation, because of course there is one.

Alice’s Collections contacted Ringdoll on my behalf and sent them photos of the damage. Ringdoll responded by stating that the skirt was not broken. Which is a fascinating claim, considering one of the skirt petals is very clearly snapped off. I truly cannot believe Ringdoll would try to claim a broken part wasn’t broken. 🙄

As compensation, Alice’s Collections offered a pair of 9.90 eyes. Which is kind, but unfortunately, eyes do not reattach broken skirt petals. But thanks, Alice's Collections, for trying to make it right. 💖

Because I am who I am, I went straight to the source and contacted Ringdoll directly. I explained again that the skirt was broken and sent both photos and a video directly. They replied to let me know I had contacted the wrong department and that my message had been forwarded to the correct one.

After that, I received no reply.

However, Alice’s Collections later followed up to let me know that Ringdoll contacted them and agreed to send a replacement part. So it appears Ringdoll chose to respond to the dealer instead of me, which is perfectly fine, since that’s who I ordered from in the first place.

Alice’s Collections confirmed they will ship the replacement as soon as they receive it.

So, in conclusion:
The skirt was broken.
The skirt is being replaced.
Reality has been restored. 👍
