My BJD Brainrot

THE DOLL BLOG NOBODY ASKED FOR
Welcome to the blog, a chaotic archive of doll ramblings, art struggles, collecting disasters, customization experiments, and whatever financial mistakes I've convinced myself are "self-care." I ramble about BJDs, review them, attempt to customize them, and occasionally have an emotional meltdown. Think of this blog as a chaotic diary made by someone who keeps buying dolls despite having no space, no restraint, and no intention of stopping. If you’re here for structure or stability, you took a wrong turn. Enjoy the chaos.
Note: Some of the blog posts are blank. I am slowly but surely fixing them. There are a lot, so it takes time.

Buying Dolls Instead of Groceries: Dream Valley Crow Edition

Welcome back to another episode of "I spent my rent money on resin that will eventually turn yellow and betray me." Who needs a balanced diet when you can huff resin fumes and regret instead?

This time, the culprit is the gorgeous, possibly cursed, Dream Valley Marin - The Collector in the Attic. And let me tell you, this unboxing was less "heavenly resin angel" and more "crime scene at a discount."

📦 The Raccoon Unboxing and the Missing CoA Crisis

Before we even get to the doll, let's talk about the absolute nightmare that was the shipping box.

The question of the day is: Why in the name of all that is unholy is the Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) on the outside of the doll box? Like some cheap prize from a cereal box!

I specifically beg Superbuy not to open my doll boxes, but do they listen? Of course not. They went full feral raccoon, flipped the box inside out, and nearly lost my CoA. Nothing reminds you that life is pain and you’ve made poor choices like staring into the void of a missing CoA. Trust me, I have been there. *flashback to Bhiner losing my CoA*

💔 My Crow Has No Magnets: Discount Demon Edition

Picture
The trouble didn't stop with the box. My new guy is already trying to escape!
  • His head cap popped right off the moment I touched him.
  • The reason? No magnets in there. They came out. None.
Apparently, he's part-time crow and part-time reject pile.

I don't mind buying the factory gremlins, but if you're going to hand me a discount demon, at least charge me less, Dream Valley! Give me the clearance tag. Give me that "we found this under the couch cushions" discount. I would proudly buy your problem child!

🐦 My Feat Are Weak: The Quest for Perfect Bird Feet

Small confession: I really don't like his default feet. They're more like awkward human cosplay than terrifying crow demon.

I'm now on a desperate hunt! I'm considering just stealing the Phoenix Nirvana feet for him. Or, if you’re out there and willing to sell your Nirvana feet or those twin-bird harpy feet, I will buy them!

Honestly, finding specific BJD parts is like trying to summon a demon with half the ritual instructions missing. Wish me luck!

🛒 The Spirit Halloween Anniversary Snatch

Picture
I skipped Maurren the first time around, because I knew he would come back. And lo and behold, he did! But only through Dream Valley’s Taobao store, which was basically throwing random limited dolls at us like a clearance bin at Spirit Halloween for their anniversary. Naturally, I snatched up the crow guy because if life is falling apart, you might as well do it in style.

The Double Crow Set Surprise
Speaking of surprises, the Taobao listing made it sound like he didn't come with his crow tail and mask, so I panicked and bought a separate set. Joke's on me! The doll arrived with two full sets of accessories.

I listed the extra set on Mercari, and it sold faster than my will to live through tax season. If you were hoping to snag it, sorry! It was vultured immediately.

🦢 Final Thoughts on the Crow King

  • He only came in two colors: black and white. I hate white resin because it ages like milk in the sun.
  • The decision to use magnetic arms for the wings and extremities is still a huge kudos to Dream Valley and Fairyland. They are fantastic!
  • The wings got a little warped in shipping, but they look cool and give him character.

He’s a little broken, probably cursed, and most definitely going to outlive me because resin dolls are forever, unlike my ability to make sound financial decisions.
